Local Farms and CSAs

Buying from local farmers not only supports their work and enables them to continue — it also means a fresher and often more healthful product while eliminating the environmental costs of transporting food long distances.

Many local farms have farm stores on the premises or turn up at local farmers’ markets. Some even deliver!

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture and normally involves a membership plan; the arrangements vary widely.

This page is under construction. Its purpose is to provide a list of farms and CSAs providing locally grown food here in the Souhegan Valley. The following includes a few we know about, but your suggestions to complete the list are very welcome. Warning: our information is rather incomplete at this point.

Benedikt Dairy has 20 week certified organic milk and egg CSA shares available. Our farm is in Bedford and shareholders can pick up there or at our place in Milford. We’re in the second year of growing our business from what is now a 3 cow herd to what will eventually become a 20-30 cow herd. Looking forward to expanding our offerings in the future to include yogurt and other deliciousness.

We’re committed to producing the highest quality product possible for the health and well being of the soil, our animals, and the humans who enjoy it.

Come talk with us and taste our milk at the Milford Winter Farmers’ Market, Bedford Fields Winter Market, or the Bedford Farmers’ Market in the summertime.

Call Max for more information or to try a bottle before committing to a share: 801-7056.
