The Food Pantry Potager

Potager Entrance Sierra Brookes has written a vivid report on her experience at the Wilton Community Garden. She calls her plot a potager (French for “kitchen garden”). Its bountiful harvest is shared with families that use the The Open Cupboard Pantry, which serves those who need food assistance in Wilton, Lyndeborough and Temple.

Sierra and her husband Chas have been working their garden since the founding of the Wilton Community Garden 5 years ago. They have produced a jewel! Read more here.

At the end of her report Sierra adds the following:

Folks are invited to check out available plots for next season (call Sierra at 654-9770). New Community Garden members are welcome (you don’t have to be a Wilton resident). 2013 is sure to be even better!!

I must say the Garden looks like a little heaven on Earth. I wish our Master Gardeners could work on a garden and have it turn out like this one. We are very new and have only been in service for 2 years. Thank you for sharing.
