A Foraging Walk in the Woods

We (Keith and Andrea) invite all STTN folks to an almost-all-day event on October 28 at our home in Lyndeborough:

Come and witness the fading twilight of Autumn splendor while learning about the hidden gifts being offered from the Land! We’ll start at 10 AM with a short intro to edible/medicinal plants of our area, then hopefully embark upon a perambulatory walk with new “eyes”! The afternoon hours will be dedicated to how to make use of such earthly treasure and we’ll concoct a wintertime remedy that will remind us of the earth’s bounty. Lets end with one of those delightful potlucks where we keep in mind Tina’s advice to party!

Come for the morning, the afternoon, the whole day or some variation upon that theme. We’re thinking about doing a winter cough remedy for the afternoon section, and will get out a list of some essential items to bring for those with interest. We likewise plan to have an assortment of wild edible offerings for the potluck so the bounty of the land gains greater emphasis.

We are going to need to have an idea ahead of time how many will be coming on the morning walk and how many will be attending the afternoon workshop, so please RSVP to badgertrack AT tds DOT net. We’ll also be able to communicate further with you prior to the day, so that you can get the most out of the experience!

Directions to 388 Pettingill Hill Road: Drive north on Route 31 out of Wilton into Lyndeborough, turn left immediately after the Lyndeborough Village Store onto Pettinghill Road, and continue on Pettinghill about 2 miles (it turns to dirt after a mile) — our place is on the right, a little past the intersection with Old Temple Road.
